Injury Prevention for Active Adults in Richmond VA

Train Smarter and Stay Ahead of Injuries

Proactive injury prevention for active adults who want to address weak links before they become problems. We help you build resilience, move better, and train with confidence knowing your body can handle what you throw at it.

What Happens When You Ignore the Warning Signs

Small Issues Turn Into Bigger Problems

That tight hip or weak glute you've been ignoring? It's only a matter of time before it forces you to stop training completely.

You're Always One Step Away From Injury

You feel good now, but you know something's off. You're waiting for the other shoe to drop instead of training with confidence.

What Active Adults Are Saying About Physical Therapy at Grit

I have gone to Grit for two different issues, and Dr. Gabby was able to fix both relatively quick. In both instances, the pain was minimized significantly in the first few sessions, and then the focus transitioned to functional strength to prevent the issue from coming back. Dr. Gabby's knowledge, expertise, and compassion were evident every step of the way! I highly recommend!

Annie Frankfort
Gabby was able to help me get rid of my Achilles pain with her manual skills and through instruction in exercises. I am still doing the exercises now to keep strong and prevent further injuries. Gabby is so personable and knowledgeable! I highly recommend her to an athlete or someone like me who just enjoys keeping in shape and pain-free!

Common Questions About Injury Prevention at Grit

Here are answers to the questions we hear most often from active adults considering injury prevention services at Grit PT & Performance.

Do I need a referral to start physical therapy?

No. Virginia allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can schedule an evaluation without a doctor's referral. We'll coordinate with your physician if needed.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your injury and goals, but most active adults see significant progress within 6-8 sessions. We'll give you a clear plan during your evaluation.

Will you make me stop training?

Not unless absolutely necessary. Our goal is to modify your training so you can stay active while you recover. We work with your schedule and your sport.

What does out-of-network mean for me?

You'll pay a flat rate at each session, and we'll provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. No surprise bills, no pre-authorization delays.

What should I bring to my first session?

Wear comfortable athletic clothing you can move in. Bring any recent imaging or reports if you have them, and be ready to talk about your training and goals.
