What Active Adults in Richmond Are Saying

Colin was very helpful and knowledgeable, answered all my questions and offered suggestions to keep me on the road running. Colin showed me exercises that can be incorporated into my gym workouts as well as do at home. Would highly recommend Colin at Grit Physical therapy

Dr.Gabby is a great physical therapist! I did acl and meniscus physical therapy with her. She made me pain free and helped me be able to do any sport or physical activity without pain again! Our workouts were great and she did a great job at explaining why we were doing the workout. Was also a great person and made physical therapy a fun. Is very knowledgeable about different workouts and what body parts they correlate with.

Dr Gabby knew what to do based on my verbal description right away. The first week, she relieved tension in my leg but also used a new technique I’d never seen. But two weeks later she had me doing more traditional workouts. 6 weeks later my leg can consistently handle far more load. It’s hard to describe the complex misalignment of tension creating discomfort in my meniscus but all of that is gone because of the muscle balancing and conditioning she has me doing. I tried online trainers. I tried physical therapy (which actually led me to her). None of it had me racing. Dr Gabby does sports performance training for my leg. I’m a triathlete. I ran an Ironman. And I never quite recovered after over training for that until now. She will create the change you are looking for. But she will also make you work harder than you are accustomed too. Not for the feint of heart. Dr Gabby is for people who aren’t ok with giving up or imposing limitations on themselves. I’m overweight. She meets me where I’m at. But she demands a lot and knows how to use my own psychology against me in a highly constructive way. Don’t go see her unless you want true change and you are ready to do the emotional work of believing in yourself. She will believe. And you better believe that requires leaving excuses at the door. She is that good. Are you?

I went to Dr. Gabby at Grit Physical Therapy for a full evaluation, and it was exactly what I needed. She helped me pinpoint imbalances I didn’t even realize I had and gave thoughtful feedback on the workout combos I’ve been developing. As a trainer building out a 3-month strength and mobility program, it felt so validating to have her insight and stamp of approval. Gabby has a sharp eye, a calm presence, and a clear way of explaining what’s going on in your body. Whether you’re rehabbing, optimizing performance, or just want to move better, Grit is the place to go.

I suffered a hip injury multiple months ago and had seen a few PTs that didn't end up helping much. I scheduled a session at GRIT and was expecting the same (and boy, was I wrong!) I assumed I would be in pain for the next year until I finished up college lacrosse. After my very first session, I felt so much better, and just a few weeks later, I am pain-free, even doing highly intense workouts. Gabby is extremely intelligent, and I was impressed by her professionalism, knowledge, and ability to help with a not-so-common injury. I highly recommend GRIT for anybody recovering from an injury or experiencing pain!
